This unique Septet is a modern version of a popular Milwaukee based salsa band that was making music in the 80's called Conjunto Charambó. Charambó is a word that came to life by combining two different names of rhythms from the Caribbean, one called Charanga and the other Bomba. In 2022, the leader of the 80's band and percussionist Alberto Rivera reinvented the band to a scaled down version of the original 80’s ensemble. Alberto, veteran band director has been performing since the age of 12 yrs old and has performed and directed ensembles backing and supporting many international artists. Thru Septeto Charambo, Alberto aims to strengthen the legacy of Salsa music in Milwaukee.
In addition to Rivera, Ramon Torres Jr., another member from the 80's, joins the ensemble on Vibraphone. They are accompanied by multi-talented bassist Rafael Castro Jr. and multi-percussionist Cecilio Negron Jr. who are the sons of 2 former members of the original 80's ensemble. Completing the ensemble are the new talents of multi-instrumentalist Joey Sanchez on Piano, multi-percussionist Salvador Santiago Jr. on Timbales, and veteran vocalist and composer Robert Figueroa on lead vocals.
Under the direction of Alberto Rivera, this Septet presents a unique style of music called "Salsa Dura'' and is guaranteed to get the dance floor packed, inspire listeners, and aims to keep the rich traditions of Salsa music in Milwaukee alive.

Este septeto único es una versión moderna de una banda de salsa muy popular de Milwaukee que hacía música en los años 80’s llamada Conjunto Charambó. La palabra “Charambó” nació de la combinación de los nombres de dos diferentes ritmos del Caribe, uno llamado Charanga y el otro Bomba. Reinventado en el año 2022 por el líder de la banda de los 80, el percusionista Alberto Rivera, este septeto reducido a 7 integrantes, tiene como objetivo fortalecer el legado de la música salsa en Milwaukee.
Además de Rivera, en Vibráfono se suma Ramón Torres Jr lll, otro integrante original la banda de los 80. Los acompañan el bajista Rafael Castro Jr. y el percusionista Cecilio Negrón Jr. quienes son hijos de 2 ex integrantes tambien de la original banda Charambó de los 80's. Completando el conjunto están los nuevos talentos de Joey Sánchez en el piano, Salvador Santiago Jr. en los timbales y Robert Figueroa en la voz principal.
Bajo la dirección de Alberto Rivera, este septeto presenta un estilo único de música conocida como "Salsa Dura'' y garantiza llenar la pista de baile,asi como inspirar a los oyentes y tiene como objetivo mantener vivas las ricas tradiciones de la salsa en Milwaukee.
